We had the opportunity and great pleasure to create a custom mural for the new office of the social housing agency Alsace Habitat in the Strasbourg Eurometropolis.
Our mission: to create a calming composition in this reception hall, which serves as both a passage and waiting area, and which can sometimes be a focal point for situations of frustration and annoyance.
Botanical Custom Mural and IKEBANA-Inspired Frames
For this project, we opted for a botanical composition inspired by enclosed gardens. The shapes and colors of stems and leaves overlap to create harmony and balance.
Each element was individually painted or drawn! The arrangement was then constructed much like a floral designer would, using pre-designed watercolor and ink elements. Similar to Japanese Ikebana, everything is based on harmony between lines, rhythms, and colors.
Remaining understated and elegant, this custom mural transports the public to a serene and tranquil world. The composition has also been reproduced in three large framed art prints, now adorning the agency’s offices and serving as a beautiful link between the reception area and the rest of the building.
